Intimate Gatherings

One of the fun ways to experience Sacred Spaces principles in action is to schedule or attend a gathering.

With a small group of like-minded people, you will have the opportunity to learn and practice the exercises Dr. Susie teaches, as well as ask questions. A small number of auditor slots may be available, but this will depend on the gathering organizer. The small gathering size allows for more personalized instruction and encourages an atmosphere of safety, support, and camaraderie.

HOW TO HOST A GATHERING

The Place

The location needs to be safe and accessible for both horses and humans. Busy public barns are not ideal, unless there is a quiet place available for humans and horses.

Indoor arenas are not required, however, inclement weather may change the flow of the gathering, and adversely affect the learning experience.

The People

Small groups of open-minded, open-hearted people always make for the best gatherings. Gatherings can have no more than six participants and their horses, and it is best to keep the number of viewers and non-horse participants to a minimum.

Dr. Susie does sacred, subtle work with people and horses. Each and every person who attends will contribute their personal energy to the mix, and influence the overall experience for all (horse and humans.)

The Plan

Gatherings are typically 2 1/2 days long. Gatherings of longer duration are possible and allow for one or more days of private sessions without auditors or additional group instruction. The following is an example of how a gathering may be structured:

Day 1: Meet and greet, a short lecture, and Q&A. Participants have time to get to know Dr. Susie and each other, and feel comfortable with the flow and structure of the gathering.

Day 2-3: Every participant and their horse will receive a full hour with Dr. Susie each day, while auditors and participants observe. There is typically an hour lunch break after the first three sessions each day.

Each session is driven by the horse. On day one, the focus is primarily on Sacred Space relational principles. In some cases, this may include an emphasis on creating mental and emotional balance, as well as exploring the signs of trauma/emotional triggers in a horse that create relationship, training, or handling challenges.

**It is strongly recommended that all gathering participants read Sacred Spaces: Communion with the Horse Through Science and Spirit here, and take The Sacred Breath online course, here prior to attending. This will ensure that everyone maximizes his or her learning experience.
